Kelly Thompson joined NNCC in March 2015 as the Law and Policy Program Manager and the Strategic Policy Initiative Specialist within PHMC’s Strategy Division. Kelly supervises public health law research projects, spanning topics from health and social equity concerns of vulnerable populations to public health emergency preparedness, and provides a legal perspective on multidisciplinary project teams. Her favorite focus areas of legal and policy research are intersections of criminal justice issues with public health outcomes. After graduating cum laude with a dual BA in Criminal Justice and Sociology from the University of Delaware, Kelly moved to Philadelphia to earn her JD from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. Kelly is committed to a career in public interest, and has enjoyed prior work experience with the Center for Health Law, Policy and Practice at Temple University, the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations and the Pennsylvania Innocence Project.
